Corporate Volunteering

The Benefits of Corporate Volunteering

Volunteering with us will not only raise your profile within the local community, but it will also help strengthen work teams and boost company morale. All of our opportunities are completely personalized based on:

  • Group size
  • Preference of activity
  • Population you would like to serve

We have worked with thousands of corporate volunteers from some of the largest hotels, accounting firms, medical device manufacturing companies, beverage corporations, and retail companies in the United States. Let us get your company involved!

Suggested Opportunities

  • Kits For The Homeless

    5+ volunteers (no limit)

Every day we are out in the community with our city’s homeless providing them with counseling, linking them to available resources, and providing them with amenities that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford or find. Kit assembly is ideal for groups in one location that don’t have easy access to transportation–and it can be done freely throughout the day on breaks and even between sessions at conferences, too!

  • Donation Collection

    No minimum or limit

Organize a drive of much-needed items to benefit some of the 52,000-plus people we serve each year. Suggested items include new sheet sets, blankets, bath towels, hand towels and washcloths; lightly used dishes, pots, pans and appliances; RTA bus passes; flashlights; and feminine hygiene products.

  • Interact With Our Consumers

    5+ volunteers (no limit)

Visit one of our locations and spend time with our consumers doing activities such as bingo, trivia, dinner, educational workshops, crafts, or a holiday party. Multiple locations are available depending on group size in Orleans, Terrebonne, Tangipahoa and St. Tammany parishes. This opportunity is ideal for groups of all size and available any day of the week. Creativity in activity is encouraged!

  • Prepare School Lunches With Fresh Food Factor

    1-7 volunteers total

Help with food prep, packaging meals, washing dishes and other necessary tasks to provide 8,000 New Orleans schoolchildren with healthy meals each day. Ideal for groups of seven or less, this opportunity is available only Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. depending on school and summer camp schedules.

  • Get Your Hands Dirty With Beautification & Landscaping

    5+ volunteers (no limit)

Get your hands dirty by giving a Volunteers of America facility a makeover. Activity can include painting, gardening, laying sod, debris removal, building wheelchair ramps and general landscaping. This opportunity is ideal for groups of all sizes and available at multiple sites in Orleans, Terrebonne, Tangipahoa and St. Tammany parishes.

  • Build A Wheelchair Ramp For Someone Elderly Or Disabled

    5+ volunteers (no limit)

Sponsor and build a wheelchair ramp for an individual or family in need through our Repairs on Wheels Program in Jefferson, St. Charles, St. Tammany and St. John parishes as well as the City of Kenner.
