A Message from Our President

Children and families are important to Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana and the 16 parishes we serve. Each year, our GolfStar Classic Tournament helps create forever families like Kristine, Matt, and baby Anton. This young, loving family is featured on this website and if you’ve read their story, you know it was truly fate that brought them together. Kristine and Matt always hoped that adoption could be in their future. The couple turned to Volunteers of America, and the agency was the missing piece to their journey to become parents. Then one day they received the call that would change their lives as they met Anton for the first time. It was love at first sight of Anton and his contagious smile.
Since 1942, hundreds of “forever families” started with Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana. Times have changed for women, but the need remains for maternity counseling for women and adoption counseling for couples who delayed starting their families. Volunteers of America's Adoption and Maternity Program remains as relevant as it was 80 years ago. The GolfStar Classic Tournament, started by adoptive parents in 1992, continues to draw members of our community who are willing to commit to financial support while having a day of fun. Please join us on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, for a round of golf at TPC Louisiana, a PGA-rated course. Thank you in advance for your support and generous contributions.
Respectfully,
Voris R. Vigee
