You will have the opportunity to engage in coalition building around a specific advocacy area (mental health care) and the opportunity to learn from professional colleagues in the areas of development, communications, community outreach and government relations.

This internship is focused on Master of Social Work or Counseling program students looking to complete hourly fieldwork experience. They will be under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or a Licensed Professional Counselor as their site supervisor. Students will provide direct and non-direct hourly counseling services and develop the skills to work as a professional. During their practicum/internship, students also participate in in-house trainings and educational courses.

You'll provide assistance in literacy and educational programs to residents of the Residential Re-Entry Center to assist with successful, productive reintegration into society. Tasks include assisting residents with computer literacy, helping clients complete school assignments, participating in health and awareness programs and much more.

This 15-week internship provides extensive experience in the execution of ensuring organization programs are well prepared and set up for the upcoming CARF accreditation with Risk & Safety practices. The intern will also gain a great deal of experience and insight in data management and the importance of attention to detail in the upkeep of needed safety documents per program requirements.
