K10 Service Project

The Home Depot Foundation Celebrates Resilient New Orleans Residents

Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana was pleased to have been selected to participate in the City of New Orleans Katrina 10 Citywide Day of Service. On August 29th, Team Depot and more than 100 volunteers dedicated their time and talent to a landscaping and beautification project at an affordable living community for working families. This apartment community, Elysian Courtyards of Gentilly, opened after Katrina to help replace the more than 1,000 housing units owned by Volunteers of America that were damaged or destroyed. This project was made possible by the generous donation of all materials by The Home Depot Foundation, a long supporter of Volunteers of America and the recovery of New Orleans.
