New Orleans CityBusiness Recognized Voris Vigee as a 2014 Women of the Year Honoree

New Orleans, LA (August 28, 2014) – New Orleans CityBusiness has named Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans Executive Vice President for Program Operations Voris Vigee as a 2014 Women of the Year honoree. Each year, New Orleans CityBusiness recognizes 50 individuals based on their career and community contributions.
Vigee, a commissioned minister, oversees Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans’ thirteen programs and an operating budget of more than $24 million. During her career, Vigee worked in various capacities serving community organizations and advocating for individuals with disabilities and special needs. As a result of her passion and leadership, she has been recognized with the National Volunteers of America’s “Excellence in Administration” Award as well as the National Association of Black Social Workers (Rising Young Black Administrators: A Call to Action) Award.
“Advocating for the individuals we serve is one of the most important things in my life, I am honored to be recognized for the work I love,” shares Vigee.
An awards luncheon will be held Friday, Nov. 14 at the Hyatt Regency, where the overall 2014 Woman of the Year will be announced. A special insert profiling all Women of the Year honorees will run in the Nov. 21 edition of CityBusiness.
