    Start dusting off your Santa hats and breaking out the gift wrap! Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana is gearing up for our annual Christmas Wish Project to spread some holiday cheer to those in need this season. But we can't do it without you!

  • Second Harvest Pickup Volunteer

    Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana, 700 Edwards Ave, New Orleans, LA 70123

    Our Community Living Services program (CLS), which provides housing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, needs volunteers to pick up food and supplies from Second Harvest Food Bank, then deliver them to CLS homes.

  • Kitchen Assistant at Fresh Food Factor

    Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana, 1746 Tchoupitoulas Street, New Orleans, LA 70119

    Volunteers help the cooks at Fresh Food Factor, which prepares healthy meals for schoolchildren, with food preparation, packaging meals and other tasks. This is a great opportunity for small groups!

  • Retired Senior Volunteering

    Northshore Offices, Mandeville, LA

    If you are a senior aged 55 and older and live in St. Tammany Parish, you can give back to your community through our Retired Senior Volunteer Program. This program matches seniors with agencies in the community in need of volunteers.

  • Homeless Veterans Outreach Volunteer

    Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana, Houma, LA

    Homeless Veterans Outreach Volunteers will be responsible for driving around in the Houma region and speaking to the homeless to determine whether or not they are veterans in need of housing and homeless prevention. If they are, volunteers will refer the veterans to their supervisor so that the individuals can be placed in a housing program.

  • Mentor a Child of an Incarcerated Parent

    ​YOU can make a difference in the life of a child! Louisiana is second in the nation for the most number of people incarcerated per capita and our children are suffering. Mentors in our Mentoring Children of Promise program work one-on-one with at-risk youth to provide extra acceptance, attention, encouragement, guidance and hope.

  • Administrative Assistant

    Increase our capacity to help more people by assisting with office tasks such as filing, data entry, copying and scanning documents, shredding, preparing flies for storage, and other related tasks. An orientation will be provided on or prior to your first day of service and training will be provided periodically throughout your service.

  • Be a Helpful Friend to a Senior

    Make friends with the residents at The Terraces on Tulane, our apartment complex for low-income seniors. Visit weekly or monthly to help seniors with tasks that become difficult with age while providing them with a companion and the socialization that everyone needs!

  • Support Farm to School Efforts

    Help plant, maintain and harvest fruits and vegetables that are incorporated into the meals prepared by Fresh Food Factor for the school children of Greater New Orleans.
