Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana provides children, youth, and family services that help young people and families build stronger, healthier futures. Our programs provide mentoring, guidance, support and resources designed to promote positive development and help children and youth thrive.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow in a safe, stable, and supportive environment. Our family-focused programs help children and youth develop important social, emotional, and academic skills while helping families navigate challenges and build long-term stability
Supporting Children, Youth and Families
Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana provides children, youth and family services designed to strengthen families, support healthy development and help individuals navigate important life transitions. We serve children, youth expectant parents, birth parents, adoptive families and families who may be experiencing poverty, housing instability, trauma, family challenges, or limited access to supportive community services.
Our programs connect individuals and families with practical support, caring professionals, and community resources at different stages of need.
Prevention and Family Support
Our prevention services help children and families build strong foundations and address challenges before they become crises. Services may include parenting support, mentoring, after-school enrichment, life-skills development, family support, and community-based activities that encourage healthy relationships and positive development.
When a child, young person, or family begins experiencing challenges, early support can make a difference. Our early intervention programs help identify needs, connect families with appropriate resources, and provide services that promote stability, communication, and healthy development.
Families facing an immediate challenge may need additional support. Our crisis intervention services help children, youth, and families navigate periods of instability and connect with resources that address their immediate needs.
Some families benefit from continued services as they work toward greater stability. Our longer-term programs provide ongoing guidance and support focused on strengthening family relationships, developing life skills, increasing stability, and helping children and young people reach their goals.
Adoption and Maternity Services
Our Adoption and Maternity Services provide compassionate, individualized support for expectant parents, birth parents, children, and families considering adoption. We understand that decisions surrounding pregnancy, parenting, and adoption are deeply personal, and our team provides information, guidance, and support so individuals and families can make informed decisions about their future.
Services may include pregnancy and maternity support, adoption education and planning, counseling and guidance, adoptive family services, and ongoing support for those involved in the adoption process.
Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where expectant and birth parents can explore their options and where families interested in adoption can receive the information and assistance they need throughout their journey.
