Helping Children, Youth, & Families Grow and Thrive with our Children and Family Services.
Our Children and Family Services programs are designed to nurture the positive development of children, youth, and their families by providing support, guidance, and opportunities that strengthen emotional, social, and academic well‑being. We believe that every young person deserves the chance to grow in a safe, stable, and encouraging environment, and our services are built to help families overcome challenges while building long‑term resilience.
Volunteers of America offers high‑quality, innovative programs tailored to meet the needs of disadvantaged and disconnected children and youth. Many of the young people we serve face barriers such as poverty, trauma, unstable housing, or limited access to supportive resources. Our goal is to ensure that these children and their families receive the tools, care, and encouragement they need to thrive.
Our continuum of care includes prevention services, which help families build strong foundations before challenges escalate; early intervention programs, which identify concerns and provide support at the first signs of difficulty; and crisis intervention services, which offer immediate assistance during moments of instability or urgent need. For families requiring ongoing support, we also provide long‑term services that promote stability, healing, and healthy development over time.
These programs may include mentoring, family counseling, after‑school enrichment, parenting support, life‑skills development, and community‑based activities that foster connection and confidence. By addressing both individual and family needs, we help strengthen relationships, improve communication, and create pathways to success for children and youth of all ages.
Through compassionate care, evidence‑informed practices, and a deep commitment to community well‑being, Volunteers of America continues to empower families to grow, heal, and build brighter futures together. Learn more about our services below.
